Regional Coordination

Building Relationships for Transformation and Resilience

The goal is to build the relationships between professionals and their organizations that will support the environmental and social changes required for resilient lands and communities. We also want to increase collaboration in order to improve our collective ability to respond to challenges and rise to opportunities.

May 7–10, 2024

How do we meet the region’s time-sensitive climate needs while also investing in long-term solutions? Featuring speakers, workshops, peer-to-peer learning sessions, and field trips, the 2024 TOGETHER Conference will explore how regional collaboration can support both urgent needs and long-term transformation across three topics:

  • Conserving and stewarding 50% of the Bay Area’s lands by 2050
  • Building Tribal alliances and fostering right relations
  • Securing significant and stable funding for the region
If you work for an organization focused on climate resilience and equity in the Bay Area and beyond, this conference is for you. We invite those in all stages of their careers and all branches of an organization – whether your role is working on the land or water, communicating, interpreting, fundraising, directing, interning, and more – to attend the conference to learn, connect, and collaborate.

Field Trips

We co-host field trips with our member organizations to learn, brainstorm, problem solve, and increase regional coordination. Lunch is served in order to encourage relationship building and power creative thinking about today’s challenges and opportunities.

  • Examples of field trip discussion topics include:
  • Balancing habitat conservation with public access
  • Restoration of natural and cultural resources
  • Managing natural areas for wildfire risk and outdoor recreation
  • Opening new parks to visitors while prioritizing equitable access

TOGETHER Tuesdays

We convene a three-part event series every fall to showcase TOGETHER Bay Area member organizations’ projects and programs while highlighting the value of this coalition. Members share presentations to give a big-picture view on what’s happening around the region on a variety of topics. And we offer opportunities to meet and connect with peers from around the region.

Wildfire Data Working Group

The wildfire paradigm is shifting to adapt to the climate crisis, and TOGETHER Bay Area members are on the front lines of that shift. As hundreds of thousands of acres of the Bay Area have burned recently in wildfires, our members are in a constant cycle of research and innovation as we learn to live with fire on the landscape. Collecting and analyzing data to support this paradigm shift is key. Since the spring of 2021, TOGETHER Bay Area has been convening a working group of data compilers to learn from one another, share information, and build our regional understanding of the impacts of fire on the land.
