Science & Wonder
The San Francisco Bay Area is home to world-class science and scientists, rural and urban lands that are actively stewarded, and a diversity of worldviews and perspectives that are only matched by the diversity of plants and animals who live here. In this region, we are asking questions, conducting research, experimenting, and applying what we’ve learned. Inquiry and innovation are a part of what makes the Bay Area special.
The 2027 TOGETHER Conference will bring together place-based professionals and practitioners to explore how science and wonder inform and shape the work for healthy lands, waters, and communities. We’ll talk about what science is and who is a scientist, partnerships between data collectors and decision makers, and the critical importance of living life with a sense of wonder. And there will be opportunities for meeting new people, making connections, and having some fun.
Join us on April 27-30, 2027 for a week full of experiences, including big-picture inspiration and practical applicability.
SCHEDULE
Tuesday, April 27 | Online kickoff online from 9:00–10:30 am
Wednesday, April 28 | All-day, in-person conference at the Fort Mason Center, San Francisco
Thursday and Friday, April 28–29 | Field trips co-hosted by TOGETHER Bay Area members
TICKETS
Conference registration opens in February! Early bird ticket pricing will be available until March. Your conference ticket includes access to the virtual kickoff online, the in-person conference at the Fort Mason Center, and one field trip (on either May 9 or 10).
We welcome all who are interested in attending, and if ticket pricing is a barrier to participation, please complete this request form for a complimentary or discounted ticket.
FIELD TRIPS
Want to get practical and tangible? Field trips are great opportunities Over two days, TOGETHER Bay Area members host on-the-ground experiences that are great for making connections about specific projects, questions about implementation, one-on-one conversations, and other tangibles. And it’s a great day outdoors learning from project implementors and partners.
