Right Relations Pilot Program: Reflecting on Year 1

This month, 48 people who work for 16 of our non-Native led member organizations gathered for the closing session of the Right Relations pilot program. We listened to all 16 participating organizations share their Action Plans, which outline their next steps and commitments to building the region’s capacity––both Native and non-Native––for tribal sovereignty. It was impressive, strategic, and heartfelt. It was energizing and inspiring. And it is collective action in action.

Right Relations is a 9-month, cohort-based pilot program to build alliances with local Native American communities. The goals are to:

  • Catalyze collective action for local Native lands and communities in the San Francisco Bay Area.

  • Build the region’s capacity to strengthen Tribal sovereignty.

Designed specifically for TOGETHER Bay Area members in partnership with Redbud Resource Group, the pilot program focused on learning, action, and community. Thank you to our members for showing up, working together, and for changing how we work together. You all give us hope for a healthy, resilient, just, and equitable Bay Area. Stay tuned for more information about the pilot year and what comes next for the Right Relations program!
