Advocating in 2026
Every November, folks from across the TOGETHER coalition come together in person for our Policy Summit to get grounded in our values and advocacy work for the year ahead. Guided by our coalition’s strategic direction, we collaborate on our policy priorities annually with leadership from our Policy Committee and Board of Directors, and input from our members.
To kick off the year, we’re thrilled to share our 2026 Policy Priorities! These serve as a guide for our advocacy strategy and actions in the 2026 legislative session. Our priorities for this year are:
- Priority 1: Secure Funding For Climate Resilience Programs and Projects. Significant and stable public funding for the State Coastal Conservancy and other similar entities is critical for our members’ programs and projects.
- Priority 2: Increase the Pace of Implementation of Climate Resilience Programs and Projects. Accelerating the implementation of our members’ projects and programs is crucial to meeting community needs and addressing the climate and biodiversity crises.
- Priority 3: Navigate Changes to Federal Policy. Collaboration for nature and equity is more important than ever because of policy changes at the federal level and the deepening climate and biodiversity crises.
We invite you to learn more about our advocacy work and priorities here.
Thank you to our members, board, and staff who contributed to this effort with collaborative minds, creativity, and a lot of joy. We’ve got a great year ahead of us and we’re grateful to be in community together.
